Representative Martin T. Causer (R-Cameron/McKean/Potter) will be hosting the final Property Tax/Rent Rebate Clinic next week at the Coudersport Senior Center. The clinic will take place on Wednesday, March 13, from 9-11 a.m. and is free for all attendees.

According to Causer, a new state law has increased the income eligibility limits for both homeowners and renters to $45,000. Additionally, the maximum rebate has been raised from $650 to $1,000. The program is designed to benefit eligible residents 65 years and older, widows and widowers 50 years and older, and people with disabilities 18 years and older.

In order to file for the rebate, residents must provide specific documentation. Renters are required to bring a 2023 PA Rent Certificate, proof of income for 2023, and a driver's license or photo identification. Homeowners need to show proof of 2023 paid property taxes, income verification for 2023, and identification as well. Those interested in receiving rebates through direct deposit should bring their account information.

Causer emphasized that assistance is not limited to the clinic and is available at his offices in Bradford, Coudersport, and Kane. Residents also have the option to apply online at mypath.pa.gov.

For more information or inquiries, residents can contact Causer's office at 814-362-4400 (Bradford), 814-274-9769 (Coudersport), or 814-837-0880 (Kane).

Applicants are advised that disbursements are expected to commence after July 1.
