On Saturday, March 8, former Elk Lake Junior Senior High School standout Layla Weaver’s current college team, the Niagara Purple Eagles, lost 13-4 in their NCAA Division I softball game against the Central Michigan Chippewas.

The game took place at R.O.C. Park. This was their first matchup against the Chippewas this season.

The Purple Eagles’ next game is scheduled for Sunday, March 9 at 11:30 a.m. at R.O.C. Park against LIU Sharks.
