Rep. Martin Causer (R-Cameron/McKean/Potter) expressed his opposition to the recently passed 2025-26 state budget proposal, which was approved by the House on Monday. Causer criticized the budget for being a product of House Democrat ideas and priorities, rather than a collaboratively negotiated plan involving the House, Senate, and governor.
“Two weeks past the budget deadline, and the proposal adopted today was solely the product of House Democrat ideas and priorities, not a plan that was negotiated in good faith with the House, Senate and governor. The people of Pennsylvania deserve better,” said Causer.
Causer also highlighted concerns about excessive spending in the proposed budget. “Just like the governor’s proposal outlined back in February, this plan spends far more than our taxpayers can afford. That’s why I cast a ‘no’ vote,” he stated.
He emphasized his commitment to advocating for a final budget that adequately funds government functions while respecting taxpayer contributions.
Representative Martin T. Causer serves Pennsylvania’s 67th District in the House of Representatives.
