A recreation project in Wyoming County has received a $499,900 grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources’ Community Conservation Partnerships Program (C2P2), according to an announcement by Rep. Tina Pickett (R-Bradford/Wyoming) and Sen. Lisa Baker (R-20).
The funding will be used for the development of the Joint Municipal Trail in Clinton Township and Factoryville Borough. Planned improvements include construction of a trail, trailhead, retaining wall, ADA accessibility enhancements, landscaping, signage, and other site upgrades.
“Investing in our community means investing in the health and well-being of our residents,” Pickett said. “This funding will provide more outdoor recreational opportunities for families and residents to enjoy.”
“This project represents a terrific combination of conservation and recreation,” Baker stated. “We are fortunate to have local groups with the vision and energy to assemble and carry out a plan that contributes to the physical and mental health of area residents. This opens opportunities for folks of every age to enjoy the outdoors.”
The grant is funded through sources including the Keystone Fund and Environmental Stewardship Fund.
