The Bradford County Historical Society will receive a $9,000 grant from the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission (PHMC), according to Representatives Tina Pickett and Clint Owlett. The funding is intended to cover essential operating expenses such as insurance, gas, and electricity for the facility. This support aims to keep the society open for educational museum tours, historical programs, and research.

Representative Pickett stated, “By preserving our shared history, our historical societies help inform the public and deepen our community connections. This investment will help the Bradford County Historical Society in continuing to celebrate our county’s rich history.”

Representative Owlett added, “The Bradford County Historical Society offers a treasure trove of historical documents and artifacts that demonstrate the rich history of the county. I’m pleased to see them receive this grant so they can continue their mission of both preservation and education.”

The grant is part of PHMC’s Cultural and Historical Support Grant Program, which provides general operating support to museums and official county historical societies across Pennsylvania.
