Rep. Martin Causer met with officials from UPMC Kane to discuss rural health care and the hospital’s efforts to address patient needs in the area. The meeting, which took place on Thursday, highlighted the enthusiasm of UPMC Kane staff for serving their community and how this passion aids in recruiting physicians.

The discussion also covered challenges faced by rural health care providers, including limited access to services such as labor and delivery. Additionally, they explored the use of telemedicine as a tool to maintain healthcare access in the region.

In attendance were Mark Papalia, president of UPMC Kane; Hannah Ross, director of operations; and John Papalia, executive director of the Kane Community Hospital Foundation.
