Rep. Tina Pickett will host a seminar on senior scams in Sayre on April 25, aiming to inform older residents about recent fraudulent activities and how to safeguard themselves. The event is scheduled from 10-11:30 a.m. at Sons and Daughters of Italy, located at 301 Desmond St.

“Scammers often prey on seniors, constantly finding new methods to take their hard-earned money,” stated Pickett. “Our free events offer a practical way to help them avoid falling victim to these schemes.”

George Dillman, an investor education coordinator with the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities, will lead the seminar. His presentation will cover common scams and preventive measures, including cryptocurrency fraud. Attendees can enjoy light refreshments during the session.

Reservations are necessary for attendance and can be made through RepPickett.com/events or by contacting Pickett’s district office at 570-888-9011.

The event is part of Pickett’s ongoing efforts to protect seniors in her district from financial exploitation.
