Rep. Clint Owlett has announced the postponement of his annual Senior Expo, originally scheduled for August 1 at Wellsboro Area High School. The delay is due to construction issues at the venue. “Due to construction issues at the high school, we had to make the decision to postpone the event,” Owlett stated. “We are disappointed but hopeful we can reschedule for later this year.”
In place of the expo, Owlett is highlighting a Scam Awareness Seminar for seniors during Senior Day at the Tioga County Fair on August 5. The seminar will take place from 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the fairgrounds’ main building located at 2258 Charleston Road, Wellsboro.
The seminar is organized in collaboration with First Citizens Community Bank, C&N Bank, the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities, and the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General.
Seniors attending the seminar should note that admission to the fair is free for those aged 62 and older until 5 p.m. on August 5. Registration for participation is required and can be completed online at RepOwlett.com or by phone through either Owlett’s Wellsboro office at 570-724-1390 or Troy office at 570-297-3045.
