Daniels and Tanner Collect Victories in Final Regular Season Race

Seniors Carly Daniels  (New Cumberland, Pa./ Cedar Cliff) and Christian Tanner (Smethport, Pa./ Smethport) raced to victories in the final meet of the regular season in the Bucknell Tune-up on Friday October 21.

 

Daniels earned her second straight race win, finishing the women's 4K race with a time of 14:36.50 and was 23.30 seconds faster then the second place finisher.

 

Tanner collected his first win of the year, taking the top spot in the men's 6K race with a time of 19:52.30

 

Sophomore David Wootten (Georgetown, Del./ Sussex Central)  finished third in the race with a time of 20:01.10. Mountaineer men finished out the race 13th through 16th with Derek Simpson (Ulster, Pa. Notre Dame)  (21:22.20),  Owen Showers (Lebanon, Pa./ Lebanon) (21:23.80), Abraham Calderon (South Amboy, N.J./ South Amboy) (22:41.20) and Simon Richards (Camp Hill, Pa./ Ceder Cliff)  (22:56.70) collecting those spots.

 

The Mansfield women saw a breakthrough performance from sophomore Carri Claypool (Sayre Pa./ Sayre)finishing sixth with a time of 15:36.50.

 

Anna Duncan (Harrisburg, Pa./ Lower Dauphin) finished eighth with a 15:46.10 time. Bailey Morgan (Windsor , N.Y. / Windsor) (15:55.00) and Angie Colon (Farmingville, N.Y./ Sachem East) (15:50.90) finished tenth and 11th. Shelby Alexander (Liberty, Pa./ North Penn-Liberty)  (15th; 16:24.60) and Anisa Lytle (20th, 19:40.60) rounded out the Mountaineer finishers.

 

Mansfield returns to action on Saturday November 5 for the 2022 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Cross Country Championship race on the Lambs Creek Cross Country Course in Mansfield Pa.
