Four communities in the 67th Legislative District have been awarded state grants for essential infrastructure projects, announced Rep. Marty Causer (R-Cameron/McKean/Potter) and Sen. Cris Dush (R-25) on Tuesday. The grants, totaling nearly $1.6 million, will support water and sewer systems in these communities, ensuring the health and safety of their residents.

"It's so important to make sure we invest in our water and sewer systems to protect public health and safety in our communities," said Causer. "I was pleased to advocate for these grants and bring this money back to our district."

Dush emphasized the significance of the funding, stating, "Water and sewer projects can often be very expensive. This grant funding will help these 25th District communities ensure necessary projects are completed for the betterment of the health and safety of their residents."

The grants have been awarded as follows:

- Bradford City Water Authority, McKean County: $265,000 for the replacement of the Route 219 Water Pump Station in Bradford Township and $488,410 for the extension of a water line from St. Francis Drive to Lafferty Hollow Industrial Park.

- Hamlin Township, McKean County: $153,340 for the replacement of a control panel at a wastewater treatment plant in the township.

- Roulette Township, Potter County: $391,000 for the installation of a new well and wellhouse.

- Driftwood Borough, Cameron County: $285,175 for water system improvements.

These grants were approved on Tuesday by the Commonwealth Financing Authority and are funded from multiple sources, with the largest contribution coming from federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) money, which has been allocated for recreation and conservation as part of previous Pennsylvania state budgets.

Investing in infrastructure is crucial for the development and well-being of communities. These grants will enable the completion of vital projects that will enhance the water and sewer systems, ensuring the health and safety of the residents in the 67th Legislative District.
