Rep. Martin Causer (R-Cameron/McKean/Potter) announced the continuation of the annual Property Tax/Rent Rebate Clinics next week in various locations. The service is free and aims to assist eligible residents in accessing rebates. A new state law has increased income eligibility limits, making more individuals eligible for the program.
The clinics will be held at the following locations and times next week:
- Bradford Senior Center, 60 Campus Drive, Bradford: Monday, March 4, 9-11 a.m.
- Mt. Jewett Senior Center, 8 E. Main St., Mt. Jewett: Tuesday, March 5, 1-3 p.m.
- Oswayo Valley Senior Center, 128 Lyons St., Shinglehouse: Wednesday, March 6, 9-11 a.m.
Residents 65 years and older, widows and widowers 50 years and older, and people with disabilities 18 years and older are eligible to benefit from the program. The maximum rebate has been increased from $650 to $1,000.
To file for the rebate, residents must provide necessary documentation for processing:
- Renters: 2023 PA Rent Certificate, proof of income, and driver's license.
- Homeowners: Proof of 2023 paid property taxes, proof of income, and driver's license.
Applicants interested in receiving rebates through direct deposit should bring account information, while others will receive paper checks through the mail. Disbursements are expected to begin after July 1.
Assistance is also available at Causer’s offices in Bradford, Coudersport, and Kane. Residents can apply online as well. For more information, individuals can contact Representative Martin T. Causer's office at 814-362-4400 or visit RepCauser.com.
