HARRISBURG – Rep. Martin Causer (R-Cameron/McKean/Potter) today applauded a state grant to support sidewalk and pedestrian improvements in Bradford. Causer stated, "This is a valuable investment in our local infrastructure that will help make the City of Bradford safer and more efficient for pedestrians."
The $704,840 grant will be used for specific enhancements, as Causer explained, "The $704,840 grant will be used to install new sidewalks, curbs and pedestrian street lighting on North Bennett Street."
The project, funded through the Surface Transportation Block Grant Program Set-Aside, will include various improvements such as a stamped asphalt crosswalk, street signage, intersection enhancements, and pedestrian access improvements for the playground and the McDowell Community Trail.
Causer highlighted the significance of the project, emphasizing its impact on the community's safety and efficiency. He mentioned, "This is a valuable investment in our local infrastructure that will help make the City of Bradford safer and more efficient for pedestrians."
The selection process for the funding was based on established criteria focusing on safety benefits, cost-effectiveness, and readiness for implementation, among other factors. The project aims to improve the overall pedestrian experience and enhance the infrastructure in the City of Bradford.
