Rep. Tina Pickett and Sen. Lisa Baker have announced the allocation of over $2.5 million in state tax credits for four community projects and programs in Wyoming County, Pennsylvania. The funding is provided through the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development’s Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP).

"The NAP program serves as a vital tool, enabling businesses to make impactful investments in our local communities, enhancing the quality of life for everyone," said Pickett. "We are thankful to see Wyoming County benefiting from this initiative and deeply appreciate the commitment of all participating companies."

Senator Baker emphasized the importance of these funds: "This money is vital to community groups seeking to strengthen health care, improve patient outcomes, and provide services for those with intellectual disabilities. These are good projects, advanced by groups who have experience in making every dollar count for the benefit of the community. NAP is the type of productive partnership that yields quality of life improvements reliably and accountably."

The funding includes $630,000 for the Children's Service Center of Wyoming Valley to establish a primary care facility in Tunkhannock that will offer integrated mental and physical health care. The Geisinger Health Foundation will receive $1.8 million to support operations at its Tunkhannock CC+ facility, including employing a doctor.

Additionally, $81,000 is allocated to the Wyoming County Community Health Foundation to enhance emergency services by increasing staffing levels and reducing response times. The Wyoming County Cultural Center will receive $45,000 to offer theatre and visual arts classes for adults and children with intellectual disabilities.

NAP provides tax credits to businesses contributing to nonprofit organizations' efforts in revitalizing communities. This round totals $34.3 million supporting 218 projects across Pennsylvania.

Contributing businesses include Big Sandy Gas Company, Coterra Energy, GasSearch Drilling Services, SDS Family Law Group LLC, Shalata’s Land Clearing LLC, Sugar Hollow Water Services, Susquehanna Real Estate Corporation, Work Well Occupational Services, Northeast Data and Meshoppen Swiftmart Inc.
