Rep. Clint Owlett has announced a $250,000 grant awarded to the Tioga County Partnership for Community Health. The funds aim to expand after-school programs in the area.

"After-school programs are so valuable, especially to working families who need care for their children beyond the standard school day," Owlett stated. "I applaud the partnership for providing this resource and especially for making good use of this time to help students both academically and emotionally."

The grant will enable the expansion of the Community Care Initiative into two more school districts, reaching an additional 120 youth from kindergarten through grade six over two years. It will cover staffing costs and necessary supplies. The Pennsylvania School Safety and Security Committee awarded this grant under the Building Opportunity Through Out-of-School Time (BOOST) program. Eligible applicants could receive up to $250,000 to support structured programs or activities with engaged mentors and evidence-based practices provided outside regular school hours.
