Rep. Clint Owlett has announced that a $250,000 grant will be provided to the Tioga County Partnership for Community Health. This funding is intended to expand after-school programs in the region.

"After-school programs are so valuable, especially to working families who need care for their children beyond the standard school day," said Owlett. "I applaud the partnership for providing this resource and especially for making good use of this time to help students both academically and emotionally."

The grant will enable the partnership to extend its Community Care Initiative into two more school districts, reaching an additional 120 children from kindergarten through sixth grade over the next two years. The funds will be allocated towards staffing and acquiring necessary supplies.

The Pennsylvania School Safety and Security Committee awarded the grant under the Building Opportunity Through Out-of-School Time (BOOST) program. Applicants could receive up to $250,000 for structured programs or activities with engaged mentors and evidence-based practices aimed at school-age youth outside regular school hours.
