State funding of over $1.2 million has been allocated for transportation infrastructure projects in Wyoming County, as announced by Representative Tina Pickett and Senator Lisa Baker. The grants were secured through the Department of Community and Economic Development’s Multimodal Transportation Fund.

The funding will be distributed among several townships: Falls Township will receive $175,000 to replace Stoneridge Bridge; Lemon Township is set to get $153,595 for a culvert replacement along Schlesser Road; Tunkhannock Township will obtain $175,000 to replace two bridges on Dark Hollow Road; and Washington Township will be awarded $700,000 for similar bridge replacements on Dark Hollow Road.

Representative Pickett expressed satisfaction with the collaboration, stating, “The proactive efforts of our local officials in securing state funding for these vital projects are commendable, and I was pleased to work with Sen. Baker in advocating for the grants.” She emphasized that the new bridges would enhance driver safety and improve the county's transportation network.

Senator Baker highlighted the importance of the funding by saying, “This money is a big help for allowing these communities to address critical needs. People who live along these roads and those who drive them every day will certainly appreciate the upgrades.” She noted that state funding accelerates project timelines and reduces financial pressure on municipal budgets.

The Multimodal Transportation Fund supports development, rehabilitation, and enhancement of transportation assets within communities. The Commonwealth Financing Authority approved the grants and oversees program funding related to Pennsylvania’s economic growth.
