Rep. Tina Pickett, a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, shared updates on community events and initiatives through her Twitter account this week.
On July 24, Rep. Pickett reflected on her visit to a local event, stating, “I had a wonderful time at the Troy Fair this week. There was so much to see at the fair, great food, smiling faces and livestock raised by local farmers. I hope you all had a wonderful time at the Troy Fair!”
Later that day, she acknowledged a regional fundraising effort led by Joe Snedeker and WNEP-TV: “Go Joe! This week I attended the 28th Anniversary of the Go Joe Bike Ride! Our community is grateful to Joe Snedeker and WNEP-TV. Joe pedals hundreds of miles to raise critical funds for important resources for individuals and families served by Saint Joseph’s Center. Thank you!” The Go Joe Bike Ride is an annual event in northeastern Pennsylvania where participants cycle long distances to support Saint Joseph’s Center, an organization that provides services for children and adults with special needs.
On July 25, Rep. Pickett highlighted another community milestone: “This week, I had the opportunity to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Athens Health & Rehabilitation. This is a small facility providing short- or long-term care to its residents. They are dedicated to their community and to the success of the rehabilitation facility”. Facilities like Athens Health & Rehabilitation play an important role in offering both temporary and ongoing care options for local residents who require medical support outside hospital settings.
Rep. Pickett represents Pennsylvania’s 110th legislative district in Bradford County and has been active in promoting local events as well as supporting health care access within her constituency.
