Reps. Clint Owlett and Tina Pickett are organizing two informational sessions focused on safeguarding children from human trafficking facilitated by the internet. Given the urgency of the crime, the sessions aim to educate parents, grandparents, and community members about recognizing and tackling this issue.

Rep. Clint Owlett, representing the Tioga and Bradford areas, along with Rep. Tina Pickett, representing Bradford and Wyoming, will be speaking at these events. Joining them will be Joe Peters, Wyoming County district attorney, and Korrin Moon, president and founder of Lantern Rescue. Additionally, Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday is scheduled to contribute to the session in Wellsboro.

The sessions are set for Wednesday, April 2, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Towanda Area Junior/Senior High School, located at 1 High School Drive in Towanda, and Thursday, April 3, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Wellsboro Fire Department Annex, 21 East Ave., Wellsboro.

These sessions intend to provide insights into how human trafficking can exploit vulnerabilities within the digital space, impacting children even within their own homes. The discussions will aim to empower the community through knowledge and preventative measures.

For further information regarding media inquiries, Rep. Owlett's media contact, Patricia Hippler, can be reached at 717.772.9846 or through email at phippler@pahousegop.com. Inquiries related to Rep. Pickett can be directed to Andy Briggs at 717.260.6474 or abriggs@pahousegop.com.
