Representatives Clint Owlett and Tina Pickett are organizing two events to address the growing concern of human trafficking, with a focus on its impact on children in a digital age. These sessions aim to inform parents, grandparents, and community members on how to detect and address this crime.

Human trafficking is a rapidly increasing crime across the nation, and its victims often include children, who may fall prey within the safety of their homes, frequently through online platforms.

The first session is scheduled for Wednesday, April 2, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Towanda Area Junior/Senior High School. The second session will take place on Thursday, April 3, at the same time, at the Wellsboro Fire Department Annex.

In addition to Reps. Owlett and Pickett, the sessions will feature Joe Peters, the Wyoming County district attorney, and Korrin Moon, the president and founder of Lantern Rescue. Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday is also scheduled to participate in the session on Thursday in Wellsboro.

For media inquiries, Patricia Hippler can be contacted on behalf of Rep. Owlett and Andy Briggs for Rep. Pickett.
