Representative Martin T. Causer, from the 67th District of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, is set to host the annual Property Tax/Rent Rebate Clinics in various locations next week. The clinics will provide assistance to eligible residents seeking rebates on their property taxes or rent payments.

The schedule for the upcoming clinics is as follows:

- Smethport Senior Center, 119 W. Main St., Smethport: Monday, Feb. 26, 9-11 a.m.

- Austin Borough Office, 21 Turner St., Austin: Tuesday, Feb. 27, 10 a.m. to noon.

- Ulysses Senior Center, 522 Main St., Ulysses: Wednesday, Feb. 28, 9-11 a.m.

- Port Allegany Senior Center, 216 N. Main St., Port Allegany: Wednesday, Feb. 28, 9:30-11:30 a.m.

According to Rep. Martin Causer, the service provided at these clinics is free of charge. The recent state law changes have increased the income eligibility limits to $45,000 for both homeowners and renters. Additionally, residents are advised to exclude 50% of their Social Security income when calculating eligibility. The maximum rebate amount has also been raised from $650 to $1,000.

The program aims to benefit eligible residents who are 65 years and older, widows and widowers aged 50 and above, as well as individuals with disabilities who are 18 years and older.

To apply for the rebate, residents must bring specific documentation for claims processing. Renters will need a 2023 PA Rent Certificate, proof of income, and identification, while homeowners must provide proof of 2023 paid property taxes, income proof, and identification.

Applicants interested in receiving their rebates through direct deposit should bring their account information, or else paper checks will be mailed. Disbursements are expected to begin after July 1.

For those unable to attend the clinics, assistance is available at Rep. Causer's offices in Bradford, Coudersport, and Kane. Residents also have the option to apply online at mypath.pa.gov.

For further details and a full schedule of events, residents are encouraged to visit RepCauser.com.
