Nearly $2.7 million in grants have been awarded for municipal equipment and infrastructure projects in Cameron, McKean, and Potter counties, as announced by Rep. Martin Causer (R-Cameron/McKean/Potter) and Sen. Cris Dush (R-25).

“These grants are crucial to helping our communities make the necessary investments to best meet the needs of their residents. From water line improvements to road paving and maintenance equipment to public safety, each of these projects will help ensure the health and well-being of our citizens,” Causer stated. He added that he was pleased to advocate for these initiatives and praised local officials for their efforts.

Senator Dush emphasized the importance of this funding amidst economic challenges: “With so many hard-working families struggling with ever-rising costs and inflation, I am pleased to have played a role in securing this highly competitive funding for the citizens I serve in Cameron, McKean, and Potter counties.” He highlighted that these grants represent significant investments in community safety and quality of life.

The grants were distributed through the statewide Local Share Account program, funded by state gaming revenues. Specific allocations include $660,000 for Bradford City Water Authority's water line replacement along Route 219; $375,000 for a new public safety center in Bradford Township; $111,674 for Eldred Township's purchase of an excavator; $50,939 for a police vehicle in Foster Township; $287,700 for Genesee Township's asphalt zipper acquisition; $41,908 for Kane Borough's hot mix transporter; $97,500 for Lafayette Township's mini excavator; $66,823 for Norwich Township's dump truck; $600,000 towards Otto Township's Clark Street Bridge replacement; $364,628 to repair Roulette Township’s Railroad Avenue roadway; and $35,727 for Shippen Township’s emergency generator.

Final approval was granted at a Commonwealth Financing Authority meeting on Tuesday.
