Rep. Martin Causer and Sen. Cris Dush have announced the allocation of over $650,000 in state grants for road paving and reconstruction projects in McKean County. The funding will be used for three specific projects aimed at improving local infrastructure.
"Maintaining our infrastructure is important but costly," stated Causer. "I was happy to work with officials in these communities to support funding for much-needed road improvements that will benefit residents and all who pass through these areas."
Dush emphasized the broader benefits of these investments, saying, "We all share the benefits of an adequately funded and properly maintained local transportation infrastructure." He added that combining infrastructure upgrades with other enhancements can reduce costs, increase safety, and minimize disruptions.
The grants are distributed as follows: Kane will receive $225,000 for repaving several streets; Ceres Township will use $200,000 toward the reconstruction of Barden Brook Road; Eldred Township is allocated $228,500 for reconstructing Township Route 338, also known as Newell Creek Road.
Funding comes from the Multimodal Transportation Fund under the Commonwealth Financing Authority. This fund supports economic development by ensuring a safe and reliable transportation system across Pennsylvania.
