Steve Appleby, a longstanding figure at the Eldred World War II Museum, retired as the museum's curator after over 15 years of service. In recognition of his contributions, he received a state House citation from Rep. Martin Causer (R-Cameron/McKean/Potter).

Appleby's journey with the museum began in 2008 when he joined the staff after volunteering. His roles included outdoor maintenance, landscaping, cleaning, fundraising, and later serving as executive director and promotions director. Although retired as curator earlier this year, Appleby will continue to support the museum as curator emeritus and director of education and programs.

In addition to his work at the museum, Appleby has a long history with the armed services. He joined the U.S. Army in 1979 and later transferred to the Pennsylvania Army National Guard before being honorably discharged in 2006.

Rep. Martin T. Causer represents the 67th District in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.
